Tofu Lettuce Wraps

(3 ratings)
Comment on this recipe.

These lettuce wraps are based loosely on Vietnamese type of wraps. They’re really fresh tasting, great for vegetarians and meat-eaters alike.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Preheat the broiler. In a large bowl toss together all the ingredients for the tofu until well mixed. Spread on a small foil-lined baking sheet and broil until lightly browned about 3 minutes. Turn and brown on the other side, another 2 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, make the dipping sauce; combine the water, soy sauce, sugar, ginger and pepper flakes in a small bowl and stir until sugar has dissolved.
  3. Set out the lettuce, basil, mung bean sprouts and carrots on platters. When the tofu is cooked, let diners help themselves by wrapping the tofu cubes in lettuce leaves and adding sprouts, carrots and basil to each wrap, as well as the dipping sauce.

  • I don't usually eat tofu, but decided to give it a try. It was easy, fun and reminded me of a thai restaurant! Although it's a K3 it's not super-fillinf, even with extra K0's. Maybe add a tablespoon or less of peanuts?
