Morningstar Farms makes a product called “Recipe Crumbles” that works very well in this dish.

Ingredients
- cooking spray
- 1 small yellow onion, chopped
- 1 celery stalk, chopped
- 1 garlic clove, chopped
- 1 package (12 ounces Recipe Crumbles (vegetarian ground beef)
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt or sea salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- pinch cayenne
- 2 whole-grain hamburger buns, split and toasted
- 2 cups finely shredded romaine lettuce
- hot sauce, optional
Instructions
- Spray a large skillet with nonstick spray and warm over medium-high heat. Add the onion, celery and garlic and cook, stirring frequently until vegetables are lightly browned, about 4 minutes. Stir in the Recipe Crumbles, tomato sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce salt, pepper and cayenne. Bring just to a simmer and cook until mixture is warmed through, about 2 minutes longer. Arrange half a roll on each plate and top with the lettuce. Ladle the meat mixture over and serve with the hot sauce.
Tips
- Tips: Try serving this with our K0 Red Cabbage Slaw.
- Traditional Lea & Perrins Worcestshire contains anchovies. For a truly vegetarian version you can use the Whole Foods 365 brand, it does not contain anchovies.

- If you want to use anchovy free Worcesterchire sauce, the Whole Foods Market 365 brand is a easy to find option.

- Very quick and easy and you can add more K0 veggies, I added mushrooms. This is delicious!
